The focus of FIT’s efforts for professionals is education. The FIT has developed several resources which are listed here. Some are highly focussed, such as the antifungal drug interaction databases and microscopy/histopathology training course, others broader such as LIFE and The Aspergillus Website. The FIT also has supported career development with travel scholarships, supporting postgraduate degrees and small research grants.

Microfungi microscopy course

The Microfungi training course is for health professionals working in direct microscopy and histology of fungal disease. It requires registration, but is free to access, and can become a resource over time. The course is accredited by the UK’s Royal College of Pathologists and those who successfully complete the course earn CPD/CME points.
